CWA Union in the NLRB secret ballot election

1. The CWA Union (Union) is at Geneseo Communications, Inc. (Company) to try to get our employees to pay dues to the Union dues of approximately $60-$70 or $2.25 per hour just for you to keep your job plus initiation fees according to UnionFacts.com in google, (See Washington DC international and google CWA Local 4250. 2. If you vote YES for the union, the union will want the company to enter into a contract that has a union security clause in the contract to force you to pay dues after 30 days of work. If you do not pay your dues, it is possible the union will ask the Company to terminate your position.


3. The money you pay to the union in dues goes to pay the salaries of 10 of their International union officers and all the other business agents in the laborer’s union in the US. The International union agents are making from approximatley $180,377 -$335,376 according to the company Union Facts in Washington, DC.


4. The president, Christopher Shelton, of the International union, makes over $335,376.


5. The number of members the CWA Local 4250 in 2002 was about 900 members according to the company union facts in dc.


6. Today the union membership is down to 125 members. The union has lost approximately 85% of their members. 15. The employees who were working with at the Company Dresser-Rand Mfg. in August, 2007, were on strike for nearly 1461 days without getting any strike benefits but the union agents were still getting paid their own $100,000 salary and benefits.


16. Get the union to give you a guarantee in writing that they could force our company to increase your wages or benefits at the end of negotiations.


17. The International union fined their employees approximately $32,000 for violating their union bylaws.

20. Many times during a union election, the CWA union might state you will get a contract if you just vote “Yes” for the union 1 business day after the election. NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES CONCERNING FALSE PROMISES BY THE UNION

Recently, the CWA (Union) has filed an election petition on April 8, 2024, at the National Labor Relations Board (a neutral government agency) to determine if you really want to be represented by the Union. The Union probably took you out to a steak dinner, contacted you at home or work to state they will guarantee you higher wages and benefits and better job security. The Geneseo Communications Inc. (Company) believes that this is just a standard empty campaign promise by the Union, just like a politician's promise.


Between now and the election, the Union will continue to promise you the best contract, more job security, increased wages, health insurance, holidays, vacation that might exist at other Union companies. DON’T FALL FOR THE UNION'S FALSE PROMISES and LIES. Our company absolutely GUARANTEES in writing that these union promises are false. We pay your wages and benefits and not the Union. The Union can’t GUARANTEE anything.


Unfortunately, it is legal for Union organizers to make all kinds of false promises. However, the law prohibits our Company from making any promises at all for higher wages and benefits during the election.


Apparently, the Union uses this loophole in the law to try to mislead employees into believing it can GUARANTEE higher wages and benefits. Get them to SIGN our GUARANTEE.


During the upcoming weeks you can look forward to a lot more letters, handouts, meetings and personal appeals from the Union who want to convince you that they can magically provide you with “job security and higher-wages and benefits." We know you are smart enough to know these promises cannot be believed.


Why do our employees need an outside party to bargain for you and take you hard-earned money in dues, which is approximately $50 to $60 per month or more, along with other expenses like initiation fees, when we know that a happy group of employees is necessary to our success? In fact, the Union in 2002 had approximately 800 employees and now in 2022 only has 125 members a loss of 80% of their membership. In fact, as with other Union Contracts, if you do not pay your dues or other fees, the Union could ask our Company to fire you after 30 days of employment or the signing of a contract if you do not pay Union dues.


Please don't fall for the Union's pressure tactics and false promises and lies. Our Company believes you have the right to join or not join the Union. It is a free country. But we do not think we need the Union at our company. We hope you agree to vote NO against the Union. 4-12-24
